Here to Help – Stormy Witter

My work life stormy-edit3has been great since I joined the 1stel team in late summer 2016.  Every morning we begin with a team building exercise where our fearless leader, Jorge, guides us in making decisions about what would be best for our clients, our company, and our time. We laugh and get to know each other better. And we don’t take life too seriously. We view every day as an  opportunity to build new relationships and serve our clients.

My first few weeks at 1stel was about training and more training.  I learned the 1stel technology solutions that we provide to our clients and the 1stel operating procedures. It was time well spent because I learned so much. Training is an ongoing endeavor at 1stel.  At least twice a week we meet as a team to review each person’s strengths, weaknesses, and learn new solutions to assist clients in solving their business issues. We examine current business issues and work as a group to resolve a real  issue. It’s an excellent learning environment.

Speaking of problem solving, I love that 1stel believes serving the client and each other is why we come to work each day. The principle of service is very important in my life and it is so important to find a place where everyone around me shares the same core belief.

When I’m presented with a challenge at work, my co-workers are not shy about helping me.  If we can’t figure it out as a team we escalate the issue and Jorge reacts quickly to identify the core issues and resolve them. We are never left alone or told “Good luck!” when faced with a new problem. Our team works together to find the optimal solution for our clients.

I love being able to tell my clients that the best part of 1stel is they can call and speak to someone that knows them personally and can be counted on to provide the very best customer support!  My job is to introduce myself to a prospective client, understand their current business problems, and design a solution that will resolve their issues. It’s a great feeling knowing their business is improved because we have done our job well!

I enjoy life at 1stel because I’ve found a place to work hard and achieve my dreams. I’ve also found people who treat me with respect. A person can’t ask for a  better working environment than spending time with kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable team members where serving clients and each other is the goal. To quote Sigourney Weaver, “I worked hard and made my own way, just as my father had. And just, I’m sure, as he hoped I would. I learned, from observing him, the satisfaction that comes from striving and seeing a dream fulfilled.”
